Public-Private Partnership Program
Summary
Our Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is a limited pilot program that allows a qualified public entity to adopt Pro‑teq’s earthquake warning technology allowing the public to receive the benefit of an automated earthquake warning and resiliency system for a specified period of time, while minimizing the public budget.
Here is How it Works
Pro-teq’s ONSITE earthquake warning devices would be installed in public buildings such as fire stations or police and fire dispatch centers for instance. Each ONSITE device consists of earthquake sensors and a controller. The sensors provide the controller instant earthquake data and the controller continuously and autonomously analyzes the earthquake data and turns it into usable information. Connected to selected electronic switches, the ONSITE issues an audible alert and initiates customer-defined emergency protective actions prior to an earthquake. A test period would be established by agreement, and at the end of that period a decision would be made whether to keep the system or remove it.
Pilot Program User Group
During the pilot program, Pro-teq will coordinate a user group for program participants. The user group will facilitate the sharing of ideas, policies, experiences, and best practices among the members. The user group will also be a clearinghouse of ideas for additional applications of this earthquake warning technology.
Requirements
Participating public partners shall provide a secure location, electrical power, and access to the Internet at each of its PPP facilities.
